Flow Control – The capability of en EIDE drive to monitor and manage the velocity of the transmission of data either to or from the drive in PIO transfers using the IORDY signal. By dissenting the IORDY signal, it temporarily forces the host to halt the transfer of data. And only when it reasserts the IORDY signal, only then the hosts carry on with the transfer of data.
